Role of the Department of Athletics Media Relations South Carolina State University currently sponsors 14 sports - six men's programs and eight women's. It is the responsibility of the Department of Athletics Media Relations to disseminate information on all 14 of those sports, the coaching staff and the student-athletes as well as all members of the SC State Department of Athletics. The Department of Athletics Media Relations is also responsible for producing sport media guides, maintaining and updating the website information.
